Using Rope Reins with a Bridle
 
Attaching Reins to Bridle

  • Start from the near side of the bridle (the left side if you face the same direction as the horse)
  • Place leather slobber strap around ring in snaffle bit across from bit and between bridle cheek piece and chin strap
  • Place  one end of rein through hole in slobber strap from back to front 
  • Feed through eight inches for sport reins or ten feet for mecate reins
  • Wrap end of rein  around behind slobber strap 
  • Wrap end of rein around to front of slobber strap and place through opening between slobber strap and  rope reins 
  • Pull tight
  • Repeat on other side
