Colored Rope for Leads and Reins
Our solid colored leads
and reins are made with marine grade rope manufactured by
Pelican Rope Works. The rope is constructed with
a braided inner core and braided outer sleeve for flexibility
and strength. Pelican Rope Works makes their yacht braid
in both polyester and nylon.
Polyester
- Manufactured by Pelican Rope Works
Polyester is durable, strong, color fast, and can last for
years. Pelican Rope Works' polyester is slightly softer
and thicker than the New England Rope Dacron Polyester providing
slightly more comfort for the horse. Available colors: Black,
Pacific Blue, and Red.
Nylon
- Manufactured
by Pelican Rope Works
Some of the most exciting and hard to find colors are only
available in Nylon. Nylon is soft, thick, strong, durable,
and color fast like polyester. However, it tends to develop
an untidy look and shrinkage under heavy use and exposure
to the elements. Available color:
Hunter.
Tracer:
When comparing rope, note the tracer (or lack of tracer)
which identifies the manufacturer. The tracer is a
thread of a different color which is woven into the outer
cover or sleeve of the rope.
